Our wells have included record breaking ultra-deepwater projects in Asia, extreme remote wildcat land wells in East Africa and ‘world first’ completions in the UK North Sea.
A Global Reach
Six continents, 100+ clients, 500+ wells project managed worldwide
One of the first exploration wells ever drilled in Keyna, the Bahasi-1 wildcat set the time and cost benchmark for the region breaking the previous record by 50%.
Our 85th deepwater well, the Baobab-1 deepwater project was managed on a very tight time schedule from ordering long lead equipment to the rig off location in 165 days. The well was drilled in 32 days and under budget at $22mm.
A total of 13 exploration and development wells were drilled by Norwell offshore Ivory Coast including the successful Espoir field development. The field centres around two wellhead towers and an FPSO, the Espoir Ivorien.
The Oudna well involved the successful installation and operation of the world's first subsea jet pump. The project called for the design and manfuacture of considerable bespoke equipment allowing our client to produce the well significantly above its expected rate resulting in major cost benefits.
A complex project for a major oil company, over 200 well re-entries were supervised by Norwell drastically improving time, cost and HSQE performance. The wells were drilled in remote and extreme conditions throughout Western Siberia.
The world's deepest water depth well at the time and part of a multi-year campaign in the Indian Ocean. This well is one of 30 ultra-deepwater wells drilled by Norwell since 1997.
Norwell drilled the challenging HPHT appraisal well for the Culzean field. The field continues to be developed and will comprise of three bridge linked platforms when it comes online in 2019.
Norwell have drilled a range of wells in the UK region since 1990 including multiple land, offshore exploration, appraisal and development wells. Work has included air drilling, salt diapir development, horizontal, HPHT and extended well testing.
Norwell have drilled wells across Europe since 1990 including an extensive exploration programme in Romania from 2006 - 2012. Other locations drilled include Ireland, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
Norwell have drilled onshore and offshore wells in North Africa between Tunisia and Morocco. This work included the installation and operation of the world's first subsea jet pump completion offshore Tunisia and remote location land wells onshore Morocco.
Since 2012 Norwell have been the most prolific project management firm in East Africa. Work in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania has focused on remote onshore exploration work including the benchmark wells for cost, time and HSQE performance in the region.
Since 1997 Norwell have drilled significantly throughout West Africa. Projects have included onshore, offshore exploration, appraisal, development, abandonment and deepwater work throughout the region including in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Angola, Niger, Congo and DRC.
Norwell has drilled across the Asian continent including extensively in Russia, China, Brunei, South Korea and the Philippines. These projects have included HPHT, arctic, remote and highly deviated wells
Norwell have drilled a range of wells between North, South and Central America since 1991. Projects include deepwater and land wells in the US, Peru and Cuba.
Norwell have drilled a number of wells in the Middle East betwen Israel and the UAE including onshore and offshore HPHT wells.
Norwell have drilled more wells than any other firm in the Indian Ocean. Over a 12 year period Norwell drilled 102 deepwater, ultra deepwater and HPHT wells for ONGC including the two worlds deepest water depth wells and over 30 in ultra-deepwater.
